This is a railway heritage site where the fan-shaped locomotive depot that once served as the Bungo Mori Locomotive Division remains. This facility, registered as a national tangible cultural asset, allows you to experience the history of the SL trains and railways of that era. Located just a short distance from JR Bungo Mori Station, which is the gateway to Kusu town, it's the perfect spot to visit at the start of your day.

2026年7月25日(土)開催、玖珠川に架かる協心橋周辺を中心に行われる伝統の祇園大祭です。山車や神輿が町を練り歩く勇壮な祭りは、地域に長く受け継がれてきた夏の風物詩。夕方から夜にかけて祭りのにぎわいが最高潮に達し、日が暮れると打ち上げ花火が玖珠川沿いの夜空を彩ります。伝統の祭りと花火が一体となった、玖珠ならではの夏の夜を長い時間をかけてじっくり楽しめます。

Tips

祭りの進行や花火の打ち上げ時刻は当日の状況で変わることがあるため、現地の案内に従いましょう。長時間の観覧になるため、こまめな休憩と水分補給を心がけてください。荒天時は日程が変更になる場合があります。
