About this spot

Located in Kusu-machi Mori, a former castle town that grew up around the Mori Domain's residence with samurai houses and merchant quarters, this restaurant is set in a renovated old farmhouse over 100 years old. You can enjoy local cuisine made with regional ingredients, such as the 'Kaguya-hime Set' (かぐや姫セット) combining tori-ten (fried chicken tempura, とり天) with dango-jiru (dumpling soup, だんご汁), and a creamy omelet rice made with Kusu rice. This is the time to have an early dinner in preparation for the Gion Grand Festival, which starts at 16:00. Since the area around the venue gets very crowded once the festival begins, it's reassuring to fill up here beforehand.

Restaurants can get crowded on the day of the festival, so allow plenty of time when visiting.
