About this spot

This is the ruin of a mountain castle that flourished as the base of the Mitoya clan during the Sengoku period. Located on a hilltop, the climb rewards you with a view overlooking the townscape of Mitoya and the Mitoya River. No flashy buildings remain, but tracing the terrain lets you sense the scale of the castle at the time. In summer, the shade of the trees is cool, making it a perfect spot for families to explore a mountain castle.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from around the venue. Wear comfortable walking shoes for your visit. It's about 10 minutes by car to the next stop, the Mitoya River.
