The Naka River, flowing through the center of Naka Town, is known as a clear stream running through a valley surrounded by mountains. Along the riverbank near the Aioi district, you'll see local families enjoying water play in summer, and the clear water feels refreshingly cool even in the height of summer. It's a perfect place to cool off after playing at the forest park.
Tips
The current and water depth vary by location, so adults should accompany small children. It's reassuring to bring clothes you don't mind getting wet, along with towels and a change of clothes. Refrain from entering the water without good reason when the water level rises.
