Move to Hirano-cho (平野町), the festival venue, and have dinner while waiting for nightfall. This peaceful area, a little away from the center of the castle town, is filled with a warm atmosphere in the evening as the summer festival approaches. Reflect on the day's historical stroll through Ozu as you prepare for the evening festival.

Tips

There are only a limited number of restaurants near the venue, so it's a good idea to pick up food beforehand at places like Ohanahan-dori (おはなはん通り). There are many insects in summer evenings, so bring insect repellent. Check the festival venue and event locations while it's still light out.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours 15 minutes. The rural landscape at sunset is a highlight.
