About this spot
A scenic overlook spread across the mid-slope of Ohira Mountain offering sweeping views of the Kanto Plain. Legend says that warlord Uesugi Kenshin once gazed at the Kanto landscape from this very spot—hence the name. On clear days, views extend to distant Mount Tsukuba. Local dango teahouses line the area, and enjoying the famed mitarashi dango while resting is the classic experience.

2026年7月25日(土)開催、大平運動公園を舞台にした夏祭りの花火大会です。音楽ステージと盆踊りが繰り広げられる「なつこいSound Stage TOCHIGI with とちぎ盆祭り」のフィナーレとして、20時から約1,000発の花火が夜空に打ち上がります。音楽と踊りのにぎわいが花火と重なるひとときは、地域に根づいた夏祭りらしい一体感に包まれます。広い運動公園ならではの開放感の中で、家族でゆったり観覧できるのも魅力です。
Tips
蔵の街大通りから車で約20分。当日は周辺道路が混み合うため、夕方の早い時間に会場入りしておくのがおすすめ。荒天時は中止となる場合があるため、開催可否は当日の公式発表で確認を。

Just a few minutes' walk from Taiheizan Shrine along the approach path. Each dango shop has subtly different flavors—sampling from multiple shops is part of the fun. Railings protect young children at the viewpoint.
