Enjoy the festival on the post town streets and watch message fireworks at night
About this spot
A summer festival unique to post towns, held throughout the Nakasendo Kashiwabara Post Town area starting at 1:30 PM on July 25, 2026 (Saturday). Yaito is a local term meaning moxa (moxibustion), reflecting Kashiwabara's traditional moxa-producing heritage. As the post town streets fill with festive energy from day into evening, after enjoying dinner at dusk, message fireworks light up the night sky around 8:30 PM. The sight of historic streetscapes merged with fireworks represents a signature summer spectacle unique to Kashiwabara.
