About this spot
An ancient temple adjacent to Sereda Toshogu Shrine, it is said to have been founded by Tokugawa Yoshisue, son of Nitta Yoshishige, the ancestor of the Nitta clan, in the Kamakura period. It has a history of flourishing as one of the leading Zen temples in the Kanto region, and the shrine grounds are dotted with notable features such as the Taiko Gate and the Chokushi Gate. By touring together with Sereda Toshogu Shrine, you can more deeply feel the history connected to the Nitta and Tokugawa clans that lives in this land.

2026年7月25日(土)開催、世良田の夏を彩る世良田祇園まつりの花火大会です(雨天中止)。20時50分から、徳川氏ゆかりの歴史ある町並みの夜空に花火が打ち上がります。昼に巡った世良田東照宮や長楽寺の記憶とともに見上げる花火は、この土地ならではの歴史と夏祭りが重なり合う特別なひとときになります。

雨天時は中止となるため、当日の開催可否は事前に確認しましょう。終了後は周辺道路が混み合うため、少し余韻を楽しんでから帰路につくのがおすすめです。

Just a short walk from Sereda Toshogu Shrine. Exploring the temple grounds is free. In summer, tree shade is pleasant and it is suitable for a rest spot.
