Known for its clear water and gently sloping sandy shore, this is the only bathing beach in Kashima where you can also enjoy clam digging. During summer, lifeguards are on duty and facilities like beach houses are well-equipped, making it safe even for families with small children to enjoy water activities. Experience the openness of the sea before your shrine visit.
Tips
About 10-15 minutes by car to Kashima Shrine. Swimming season is mid-July to mid-August, with lifeguard hours 9 AM to 4 PM. Parking is fee-based (800 yen for regular vehicles), so early arrival is recommended.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Cool morning hours are best for swimming.
