A nature-rich area where the Matsukawa River, flowing through Takayama Village, has carved a dramatic gorge with waterfalls and unusual rock formations dotting the scenic trail. Walking through the tree-lined path, the sound of the rushing stream and cool breeze make you forget the summer heat. It's a perfect hiking course to enjoy with children as you take in the river flow and refreshing air. Beyond the gorge lie scattered hot spring locations that connect to Yamada Hot Spring ahead, allowing you to experience the natural charm characteristic of Takayama Village.

2026年7月25日(土)、高山村で開催される信州高山まつりの締めくくりとして打ち上げられる花火です。山あいの静かな夜空に大輪の花火が次々と開き、19時から20時ごろまでまつりのフィナーレを彩ります。1日かけて小布施の歴史散策と高山村の渓谷、温泉をめぐったあとに見上げる花火は、旅の締めくくりにふさわしい特別な光景です。標高の高い山里ならではの澄んだ夜空も、花火をいっそう美しく引き立てます。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否はまつりの公式発表で確認しましょう。会場周辺の駐車場には限りがあるため、早めの来場がおすすめです。終了後は帰路の道が混み合うことがあります。
Tips
About 20 minutes by car from Michi no Eki Oasis Obuse. The trail has sections with uneven footing, so wear sturdy hiking shoes. The area becomes somewhat dim in the evening, so daytime exploration is recommended.
Best time to visit
Takes approximately 1 hour. Late afternoon when sunlight softens is cooler and easier for walking.
