A dramatic gorge carved by the powerful Tenryu River over countless years, representing southern Shinano's natural beauty at its finest. The trail offers stunning views of towering rock walls, lush vegetation, and the river's pristine blue waters. Even in summer, the gorge offers plenty of shade along its course, allowing for cool and refreshing walks accompanied by the soothing sound of flowing water. The scenic vistas offer excellent photo opportunities and make for perfect summer family memories.

Tips

About 15 minutes by car from Michi no Eki Shinaroji Shimojo. The trail has some elevation changes, so wear comfortable walking shoes. The summer sun is strong, so don't forget a hat and plenty of drinking water.

Best time to visit

Takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. Afternoon light makes the gorge's greenery and river waters shine beautifully.
