Experience ancient life in reconstructed pit dwellings
About this spot
This is a well-known archaeological site park throughout Japan where settlement remains from the Jomon period to the Kofun and Nara periods were discovered. The park features reconstructed pit dwellings scattered throughout, and visitors can enter them to experience how people lived at that time. The park also has a spacious lawn where children can run around and play between archaeological explorations. The adjacent museum displays excavated artifacts and provides an easy-to-understand overview of this region's long history.
