About this spot
A coast designated as part of the Sanriku Recovery National Park, with the rare nationwide landscape of grassland extending right to the sea's edge. You can lie down on the soft grass hills, walk along the promenade to admire the rocky tidal pools, and enjoy in your own way. The openness of gazing out to the Pacific Ocean horizon is exceptional, and even in the summer sun, there are shaded spots where you can relax. It is a pleasant walk before heading to the evening venue.

2026年7月25日(土)、階上町の小舟渡海岸を会場に行われるマリンフェスタの花火大会です。地元の名物「いちご煮」を冠したこの祭りの締めくくりとして、太平洋の海上に花火が次々と打ち上がり、19時30分から20時30分まで夜空を彩ります。波の音とともに見上げる花火は、三陸の海ならではの開放感に満ちています。蕪島や種差海岸など三陸の海を一日かけて楽しんだあとに見る花火は、夏の思い出の締めくくりにふさわしい光景です。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は主催者の公式発表で確認しましょう。終了後は駐車場へ向かう人で混み合うため、少し時間をずらしての移動がおすすめです。砂浜は足元が暗いのでスマホのライトで安全に。

About 10 minutes by car from Marient. The grassland area has little shade from the sun, so wear a hat and take sun protection measures. The rocky tidal pools are slippery, so watch your footing.
Best time to visit
