A collective name for four islands floating off the coast of Dogo Island, known nationally for the "Tombolo phenomenon," a sand path that appears when the tide recedes. During low tide, you can walk to the island, and this extraordinary experience of walking through the sea is popular with both children and adults. The walkable time varies with tidal changes, so check the low tide time in advance. Even if the Tombolo is not accessible that day, the island scenery viewed from the beach is spectacular.
Tips
About 5 minutes walk from the Dogo Island Marine boarding point. Check the tide table on the day to see if Tombolo is accessible. Wearing waterproof sandals is recommended for wading.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes required. Best to visit during low tide hours.
