A traditional streetscape preserved in Matsuzaki Town next to Dogo Island. Many traditional earthen-walled storehouses and merchant houses feature distinctive namako-patterned exterior walls - white and black geometric patterns created by glazing tiles with plaster. Walking through gives a nostalgic feeling of old Japan. Local teahouses and souvenir shops are scattered throughout, perfect for sampling local specialties during your stroll. Experience the charm of Izu's historic streets, different from Dogo Island's coastal scenery.
