Meet crocodiles and bananas in a tropical greenhouse
About this spot
A popular attraction in Atakawa Hot Spring that utilizes geothermal heat in a greenhouse where you can observe banana and tropical fruit trees and crocodiles from around the world up close. The interior of the greenhouse is warm year-round, and you can enjoy a tropical atmosphere even in summer. The impressive presence of crocodiles is of course notable, and the colorful tropical plants and flowers are also worth seeing. Families can enjoy photography while viewing leisurely. It has been cherished for years as a unique tourist facility unique to the hot spring resort of Atakawa.

2026年7月25日(土)20時45分から開催される、熱川温泉の夏を彩る海上花火大会です。海に面した堤防から、約800発の花火が15分間にわたって夜空と海上を彩ります。温泉街の灯りと湯けむり、そして海面に映る花火の光が織りなす景色は、熱川温泉ならではの情緒あふれる眺めです。短くも凝縮された花火のフィナーレは、1日の締めくくりにふさわしい特別なひとときになります。
Tips
荒天時は中止となる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は東伊豆町の観光情報で確認しましょう。終了後は駅と周辺道路が混み合うため、余韻を楽しんでから時間差で帰路につくのがおすすめです。足元が暗いので明かりの準備を。
Tips
About 20 minutes walk from Izu Atakawa Station, or convenient by shuttle bus or taxi. Admission is approximately 2,000 yen for adults. The interior is humid, so don't forget to stay hydrated. You can walk back to the next Atakawa Hot Spring Town exploration.
Best time to visit
Takes approximately 1.5 hours. Early afternoon is relatively less crowded for leisurely viewing.
