An Ancient Battlefield of the Genpei War, Panoramic View of the Seto Inland Sea from the Mountain Top
About this spot
A scenic spot in the form of a plateau protruding into the Seto Inland Sea, known as an ancient battlefield of the Genpei War. On the mountaintop stands Yashima Temple (屋島寺), the 84th temple of the Shikoku Pilgrimage, and from the observation deck in the temple grounds, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the islands floating in the Seto Inland Sea and the streets of Takamatsu. Historic sites and museums related to the Genpei War also allow you to enjoy scenic views while learning history. On clear days, you can see all the way to the coastline of Anji in the distance.

2026年7月25日(土)20時から開催される、庵治町の夏を彩る庵治船祭りの花火です。瀬戸内海に面した庵治港を舞台に、夜空に花火が次々と打ち上がります。良質な花崗岩の産地として知られる港町の夜を彩る花火は、地域の人々に長く親しまれてきた夏の風物詩です。海と港の灯りが織りなす景色の中で見上げる花火は、瀬戸内ならではの趣があります。
Tips
荒天時は中止または延期となる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は高松市の観光情報で確認しましょう。終了後は港周辺の道路が混み合うため、余韻を楽しんでから時間差で帰路につくのがおすすめです。足元が暗いので明かりの準備を。

About 30 minutes by car from Takamatsu city center; accessible to the mountaintop via driveway. Admission to Yashima Temple is free to around 300 yen. The area around the observation deck is very sunny, so it's safe to bring a hat or parasol.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 30 minutes required. On clear days, distant islands are distinctly visible.
