About this spot

This hot spring resort spreads along Yumigahama (弓ヶ浜), facing Miho Bay (美保湾), said to have begun in 1900 when fishermen discovered hot water welling up from the sea. Its saline hot spring boasts the largest spring output in the prefecture, and many inns here feature open-air baths overlooking the sea. Its coastline has also been selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Beaches. As evening falls, the lights of the inns come on, and spreading out a leisure sheet with a takeout dinner in hand makes for a cool seaside evening. It's also recommended to stroll around the hot spring town while waiting for the show to begin.

Tips

About 10 minutes on foot or by car from Yumigahama Coast (弓ヶ浜海岸). The area around the venue can get crowded on the day of the event, so it's recommended to secure a spot from early evening. It's best to pick up food and drinks beforehand.

Best time to visit

About 3 hours 15 minutes. The view of the sea and hot spring town around sunset is especially recommended.
