About this spot

This limestone cave in Osumi Town, Soo City, has been designated a National Natural Monument. Long regarded locally as an object of worship, its interior reveals mysterious scenery shaped by nature over long ages. Even in summer, it stays wrapped in cool air, making it a spot where you can cool off while enjoying nature's sculptural beauty.

Tips

Accessible by car from Iwakawa Hachiman Shrine (岩川八幡神社). Some areas inside the cave have uneven footing, so wear comfortable walking shoes.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. Also recommended as a cool retreat during the hottest hours of summer.
