This roadside station in Owase City, known as the gateway to the Kumano Kodo (熊野古道), houses a direct-sales stand offering local seafood and fresh vegetables, along with an eatery serving set meals made with Owase's specialty local fish. It's a perfect stop for a driving break as well as a base for sightseeing. There's also a free footbath on the premises, letting you soothe your travel fatigue while taking a break. Fuel up here today before heading out to explore the streets of Owase, lively with the port festival. There are also information boards about the Kumano Kodo nearby, adding to the sense of travel.

Tips

About 5 minutes by car from JR Owase Station, with free parking available. During the Obon season it can get crowded with visitors here for the festival, so early arrival is recommended. It's convenient to bring your own towel for the footbath.
