This shrine has long been revered as Owase's local guardian shrine. Large cedar trees grow thick within the grounds, keeping the air cool even in summer. It's also known for its spirited annual winter festival and is deeply rooted in the lives of local residents. Many visitors come to pray here on the day of the port festival too, so take a break in the quiet grounds and pray for a safe day and clear skies for the fireworks.
Tips
About a 10-minute walk from Owase Station. Admission is free, and you can explore the grounds freely. There are many mosquitoes in summer, so it's reassuring to take insect-repellent measures.
