This park sits on a hill overlooking Owase Bay and is beloved as a garden of camellias from around the world. It has a promenade and an observation deck, and in the evening you can watch at leisure as the bay and islands turn shades of orange. Spread out the light meal you picked up at the fish market and take a break while waiting for the 19:30 start. Thanks to its slight elevation, a pleasant breeze blows through even on a midsummer evening.
Tips
About a 15-minute walk from Owase Station; there are slopes, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. It gets dark underfoot at night, so it's reassuring to check your route down while it's still light.
