This sports park in Ashikari-cho, Ogi City (小城市芦刈町), facing the Ariake Sea (有明海), has an event plaza with a stage, two tennis courts, and a jogging path that circles the perimeter of the park. A river runs alongside the jogging path, and the park has ample parking, making it easy to stop by car. The mudskipper (ムツゴロウ), the creature this evening's festival is named after, lives in the tidal flats of the Ariake Sea, and this park sits right by that same sea. The fireworks venue is also nearby, making this a relaxing spot to spend time before evening.

Tips

The tidal flats look quite different depending on the tide, so you can enjoy the scenery even more at low tide. There's little shade, so a hat or parasol is reassuring. Kaiyu Fureai Park (海遊ふれあいパーク), the venue, is within walking distance.
