A hot spring town about one train stop from Takeno, with a history spanning over 1,300 years since its opening. The landscape of weeping willows and wooden inns lining the banks of the Otani River is renowned as quintessentially Japanese hot spring ambiance. The town is famous for hopping between exterior public baths, and offers nostalgic hot spring town activities like dart games and arcades. Enjoy a taste of classical Japanese charm, quite different from the seaside atmosphere of Takeno. Spend the evening hours in a leisurely stroll.
Tips
About a 10-minute train ride from JR Takeno Station to Kinosaki Onsen Station. If you plan to visit the public baths, purchase bath tickets. Check train schedules in advance and allow time to return to Takeno without rushing.
Best time to visit
