Held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, this is the fireworks display of the Toyooka Yanagi Matsuri, set on the dry riverbed of the Maruyama River (円山川). Thanks to the wide, open setting, there's little to block the view, letting you enjoy fireworks filling a wide-open night sky. The way the fireworks' light reflects on the calm river surface is also one of the highlights. On a summer night, the moment when the successive bursts of fireworks coloring the town of Toyooka fill the riverbed is a sight befitting the climax of the day.

Tips

In case of severe weather on the day, the event will be postponed to Monday, August 3, so check the organizer's announcement on the day. The viewing area is mainly along the levee on the east side of Toyooka Minami Junior High School (豊岡南中学校), on the left bank of the Maruyama River. Roads around the station get crowded afterward, so it's best to enjoy the lingering atmosphere for a while before moving. It's dark underfoot on the riverbed, so having a light ready is a good idea for safety.
