This roadside station offers sweeping, quintessentially Hokkaido scenery, with trees lining a gentle hillside. Frequently featured on TV and in photographs, the hill's view is known as an unforgettable sight for visitors. Inside, a shop sells local soft-serve ice cream and light snacks, perfect for a break between sightseeing stops. Just a short walk from the spacious parking lot brings you a panoramic view of the hill, making it an easy stop even with small children.

Tips

About a 10-minute drive from the Memanbetsu shore of Lake Abashiri. Some paths around the hill are unpaved, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Summer sun is strong, so bring a hat and sunscreen.
