About this spot

The Shindori area, where the fireworks are launched, is lined with night stalls run by the local chamber of commerce on the day of the summer festival, filled with festival-like bustle. Have dinner from the food stalls, from yakisoba to light snacks made with Tokachi ingredients, while taking your time to stake out a spot ahead of the 7pm start. You can fully soak in the hand-made summer festival atmosphere, bustling with locals, even before the show begins.

Tips

Many food stalls accept cash only, so bring some small change. The venue is a large open lot and roadside area, so a leisure sheet or folding chair will make things more comfortable.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes. Around sunset is when both the food stalls and the crowd are busiest
