About this spot

A popular rest point along the Golden Route with observation areas where you can view the vast Pacific Ocean from the cliff top. The deep blue sea and steep coastal cliffs below create a landscape full of Hokkaido's characteristic sense of scale. With shops and rest facilities, it's perfect for enjoying light meals while taking in the scenery during your drive. As evening approaches and sky colors change, the sea's expression also transforms moment by moment. Have a meal here and recharge before heading to the fireworks venue.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Funbe Falls. The observation area can be windy, so bring an extra layer for warmth. From here to Tokachi Port Pier 4 is about 20-30 minutes by car; as roads become congested after sunset, aim for an early departure.

Approximately 1 hour 10 minutes. Late afternoon hours offer soft ocean colors
