This is the fireworks launch of the Higashikawa Dontokoi Festival, held from 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, around the Kitamachi area of Higashikawa-cho. Fireworks open one after another in the night sky over this quiet town at the foot of Mt. Taisetsu, enjoyed amid a calm atmosphere quite different from a fireworks display in the city. Fitting for a Town of Photography, it's also recommended to capture the beautiful moment when the fireworks and starry sky overlap. As the finale to a day spent experiencing nature and culture, look up at the night sky together as a family.
