A tourist landmark unveiled by the town of Kujukuri at Katakai Chuo Coast in December 2022, shaped like the number '99' and standing 2.7 meters tall and 2.4 meters wide. The base reads 'KUJUKURI,' with 'TOKYO' and 'HAWAI' on either side, a design inspired by the lyrics of the locally cherished Kujukuri Ondo folk song. From evening, food stalls line this beach, the site of the fireworks venue, letting you secure a viewing spot while having dinner.
Tips
You can walk here directly from your stroll along Kujukuri Beach. The area gets very crowded from evening onward on the day of the fireworks display, so claiming your spot early is recommended. Stalls mainly take cash, so having small change on hand is reassuring.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 15 minutes. You can also enjoy the changing colors of the sky around sunset.
