The famous shopping street of the Arakawa Tanabata Festival, decorated overhead with colorful Tanabata ornaments. During the festival period, the street is filled with large and small ornaments, and simply walking provides a taste of the festive summer atmosphere. Street stalls and food vendors line the way, and it's recommended to enjoy walking while sampling street food. As evening approaches, crowds increase, so early hours are best for leisurely viewing the decorations.

Tips
荒天時は中止や延期の可能性があるため、当日の開催可否は主催者の公式発表で確認を。終了直後は狭山市駅方面が大混雑するため、フィナーレ後は少し余韻を楽しんでから移動するのがおすすめ。足元が暗い箇所もあるのでスマホのライトで安全に。
Tips
Within walking distance from Sayama City Station. During the festival, the street typically becomes a pedestrian zone and gets very crowded. Use shop space for eating; be mindful of valuables. The next destination, Arakawa riverbed, is reachable on foot.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Before dusk, decorations are most visible and food stalls are beginning to set up.
