A port along the coast of Kamegawa Hamada-cho in Beppu, part of Kamegawa Fishing Port, a Class 2 fishing port managed by Oita Prefecture. Facing Beppu Bay, it serves as the local gateway to the sea where fishing boats come and go. In the evening, the sea breeze passes through, and it's a pleasant spot to relax while watching boats come and go. Tonight's fireworks venue is also very close by, making it a quiet place perfect for settling in before the show begins.
Tips
Some spots underfoot can be slippery, so sneakers are recommended over sandals. Mosquitoes tend to appear in the evening, so bring insect repellent. Parking around the venue starts filling up from the evening.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 30 minutes. Evening is when the sunset over Beppu Bay is at its most beautiful.
