Built by the shores of Sayama Pond, said to be one of Japan's oldest earthen reservoirs, this museum was designed by renowned architect Tadao Ando. It introduces the 1,400 years of Sayama Pond's history and the wisdom of water management through clear exhibits, featuring impressive displays such as actual cross-sections of the embankment. The architecture itself, combining concrete and water, is also a sight to behold. Admission is free, and the cool interior allows for leisurely exploration, making it perfect for spending a summer morning.

2026年8月1日(土)開催、日本最古級のため池とされる狭山池のほとりを舞台にした夏の花火大会です。静かな水面に花火の光が映り込む様子は、都市近郊の公園ならではの見どころ。打上数の公式発表は確認されていませんが、池を囲む遊歩道のどこからでも花火を見上げられる開放感のある会場です。歴史ある池と夜空を彩る花火の共演を、家族でゆっくり楽しみましょう。

Tips

荒天時は中止や延期の可能性があるため、当日の開催可否は主催者の発表で確認を。終了後は駅周辺が混み合うため、少し余韻を楽しんでからの帰路がおすすめです。夜の遊歩道は足元が暗い箇所もあるので、スマホのライトがあると安心です。

Tips

Adjacent to Sayama Pond Park and within walking distance from Osaka-Sayama City Station on the Nankai Koya Line. Note that some areas inside allow photography while others do not; check the signage. The museum has days when it's closed, so advance confirmation is recommended.
