About this spot

This roadside station is located along National Route 108 in Furukawa, Osaki City. It sits right in the middle of Osaki Kodo, an area recognized as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System, and offers local rice varieties like Sasamusubi and Hitomebore, a direct-sales corner with freshly picked vegetables, a community cafe, and an information corner. Once you've picked up dinner here, head back to the Ewai River riverbank you walked earlier in the day, settle in, and wait for the fireworks. Spending a relaxed stretch of time watching the sky as the sun sinks is one of the highlights of this course. It's reassuring to secure a seat early, before the crowd of spectators grows.

Tips

On the day of the fireworks festival, both the riverbank and surrounding roads get very crowded from evening onward. Get your food and drinks early (convenience stores near the venue sell out quickly). Be sure to take your trash home with you. Restrooms are temporary and tend to form long lines, so use them early.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours 15 minutes. Around sunset, the riverbank is at its most pleasant for enjoying the cool evening air.
