About this spot
Held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, this is a traditional summer fireworks festival in Toyama now in its 78th year. Set on the wide riverbed downstream of Arisawa Bridge on the Jinzu River, about 3,000 fireworks shells launch one after another into the night sky. Because the river is wide with little to block the view, you can fully enjoy the large, fully opened fireworks. The way the fireworks' light reflects on the calm river surface is also a highlight, making for a spectacular sight fitting for the close of summer in Toyama.
Fireworks details
Name: 北日本新聞納涼花火(富山会場)
Date & time: 8/1 (Sat) 19:40–20:25

Tips
In case of severe weather, the event may be canceled or postponed, so check the organizer's announcement on the day. After the event ends, the surrounding roads become extremely congested, so it's recommended to enjoy the afterglow on the riverbed for a while before moving. It's dark underfoot, so having a phone light or similar ready will help keep you safe.
Best time to visit
Time your visit to the event hours of 7:40-8:25 pm. Secure a good viewing spot 30 minutes before the start
