This shopping street runs through the center of Takayama and is lined with numerous restaurants serving local specialties such as Hida beef dishes and Hida soba. Its atmosphere, closer to the daily life of local residents, offers a different charm from the old town. It's a great location to have dinner before the fireworks begin—fuel up properly here before heading to the venue.
Tips
About a 5-minute walk from Hida Kokubunji Temple. The area can get crowded in the evening on the day of the fireworks festival, so it's a good idea to enter a restaurant early. Reaching the venue, Alps View Park Sky Park, requires going up a slope or driving, so allow plenty of time before setting off.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 10 minutes needed. Finishing up before sunset makes the following move smoother.
