About this spot

A cafe housed in an old folk house along Soja's shopping street, the former Hori Wahei residence. Run as a ‘challenge shop’ where the operator changes day by day, it serves as a proving ground for people who want to open their own shop someday, and also as a hub for exchange across generations and communities. Before heading to the Takahashi River riverbed, the fireworks venue, pick up dinner here in downtown Soja. As the sun begins to lower, you can spend a relaxed time with family while waiting for the show to start.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Chuo-higashi Park. Shops near the venue get crowded right before the fireworks, so shopping at this time is recommended. It's also reassuring to secure parking early.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours needed. The cooling time just before sunset is the most comfortable
