Held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, this fireworks display closes out the Soja Citizens' Festival ‘Sesshu Festa.’ The venue, the Takahashi River riverbed grounds, is an open space spreading north of Soja Ohashi Bridge, where about 2,500 fireworks shells fill the night sky. Fireworks viewed from the wide-open riverbed are spectacular, providing a fitting finale to the summer festival of Soja, a town linked to Sesshu.

Afterward, the parking areas and surrounding roads get crowded, so leaving in a staggered manner is recommended. The riverbed is dark underfoot, so bringing a phone light or similar is reassuring.
