This lively fishing-town summer festival is held at Hamada Fishing Port from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. From 8:30 p.m., fireworks light up the night sky over Pier 7 one after another, and together with the silhouettes of the moored fishing boats, you can enjoy a summer scene unique to a port town. In the warm atmosphere of a festival long loved by the local community, it's a special night for creating summer memories with the family.

The festival will go ahead in light rain; in the event of severe weather, only the fireworks will be postponed to the following day, August 2, so check official announcements from Hamada City or the festival on the day. The area around the venue gets very crowded on the day, so arriving early and securing a spot is recommended. Some areas underfoot are dark, so having a smartphone light on hand is reassuring.

Best time to visit

Time your visit for the 8:30-9:00 p.m. fireworks. Securing a spot around the pier 30 minutes before the start is reassuring.
