About this spot
A scenic spot spanning approximately 3 km in the upper reaches of the Kinugawa River, famous for its magnificent gorge scenery. The landscape created by rugged rocks and the clear stream of the Kinugawa River is breathtaking, and from the walking path you can view many scenic spots including Nijimi Falls one after another. Although the walking path is quite strenuous, the trail surrounded by green trees and the murmur of the river remains cool even in summer, allowing the family to enjoy a leisurely nature walk. This is a spot where you can first feel the depth of the nature of the Kinugawa Hot Spring region.

鬼怒川にかかる歩行者専用の大吊橋、鬼怒楯岩大吊橋を舞台に開催される花火大会です。2026年8月1日(土)19時から20時まで、渓谷に囲まれた温泉郷の夜空に花火が次々と打ち上がります。切り立った岩肌に音が反響し、川面に光が映り込む渓谷ならではの観覧体験が魅力です。温泉街の灯りと花火が重なり合う夜景は、鬼怒川温泉郷らしい情緒にあふれています。
Tips
鬼怒川温泉街から徒歩圏内です。会場周辺は当日大変混雑するため、早めの到着がおすすめです。荒天時は中止や延期の場合があるため、開催可否は主催者の公式発表で確認してください。渓谷沿いは夜になると涼しくなるので、羽織ものがあると安心です。
Tips
About 15 minutes by car from Kinugawa Hot Spring Station, or right from Ryuohkyou Station if by train. The walking path is uneven, so please wear comfortable walking shoes. In summer, don't forget insect repellent and hydration.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. Late morning to early afternoon is a relatively cool and easy time to walk.
