About this spot

A representative landmark of Ubuyama Village, selected by the Ministry of the Environment as one of Japan's 100 Famous Waters, where Aso's underground water bubbles up constantly. The abundant spring water, said to flow at about 30 tons per minute, becomes a small stream through the forest, echoing with refreshing water sounds. As a spot where you can touch water that remains cold and clear even in summer, it is popular with families. At the beginning of your journey, experience the rich nature typical of Ubuyama Village.

2026年8月1日(土)20時45分から、産山村の広々とした牧野を会場に開催されるヒゴタイ祭2026の花火打ち上げです。遮るもののない高原の夜空に花火が大きく広がり、阿蘇の澄んだ空気の中で開放感あふれる光景を楽しめます。名水めぐりと高原散策で産山村の自然をたっぷり味わった1日の締めくくりとして、家族で夜空を見上げる特別な時間になるはずです。

Tips

荒天時は中止となる場合があるため、当日の実施状況は産山村の公式発表で確認しましょう。高原の夜は夏でも冷え込むことがあるので羽織ものを忘れずに。会場周辺は街灯が少ないため、懐中電灯があると足元が安心です。

Tips

About 15 minutes by car from Ubuyama Village center. The area around the water source has plenty of shade and stays cool even in midsummer. There is also a rest area with food facilities, making it perfect for spreading out a picnic lunch.
