A Nichiren-sect temple near Koshigoe Station on the Enoden line, known as a sacred site connected with the monk Nichiren in the Kamakura period. The grounds hold a five-storied pagoda, rare in Kanagawa Prefecture, and you can worship in a composed atmosphere. The Enoden tracks run right alongside, and watching the trains pass close to the precincts is one of the highlights. It is a perfect spot for preparing the spirit, rather than the stomach, before heading to Koshigoe Swimming Beach.
Tips
It is just a short walk from Koshigoe Station on the Enoden line. The precincts are not large, so you can worship even in a short visit. There is little shade in summer, so do not forget to keep drinking water.
Best time to visit
About 45 minutes. The quieter morning hours allow for an unhurried visit
