Held on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at 19:30, this fireworks display closes out the Shirakawa Sekimatsuri. From Shiroyama Park, overlooking the reconstructed turret of Komine Castle, about 5,500 fireworks shells are launched one after another into the night sky. The sight of the fireworks overlapping with the buildings that evoke the castle town's history is a view of charm unique to Shirakawa. It's the summer night climax the whole family looks up at together, a fitting close to a day spent touring the castle town.

In case of severe weather, the event may be cancelled or postponed, so check the organizer's official announcement on the day for whether it will be held. Right after it ends, the area around Shirakawa Station becomes very crowded, so it's recommended to enjoy the afterglow for a bit before moving after the finale. Some areas underfoot are dark, so use your phone's light to stay safe.
