About this spot

This community exchange facility along the Koyoshi River makes use of the former site of Nishitakizawa Elementary School. It has a direct-sales stand and a cafeteria lined with vegetables, fruit, and sweets grown by neighboring farmers, and events like flea markets and canoeing are also held on the plaza. It's a riverside retreat surrounded by a row of cherry trees roughly 85 years old, overlooking Mt. Chokai. On the day of the festival, restaurants and shops nearby are limited in the evening, so fill up on food early, lay out a leisure sheet, and secure a spot that's easy to view from. Spend a relaxed time by the riverside as the color of the sky changes.

Tips

Restaurants and shops around the venue are limited in number, so finishing dinner early is reassuring. At night, having a flashlight lets you walk safely along the dark riverbank on your way home.
