This is a community-rooted fireworks festival launched from near the clock tower in Sanaru-ko West Shore Park in Chuo Ward, Hamamatsu City. Over one hour from 7:30 PM, about 500 fireworks rise one after another into the night sky above the lake. One highlight is the beauty of the fireworks' light reflected on the calm water, like an upside-down display, letting you enjoy the fireworks in the calm atmosphere unique to a lake in the middle of the city. The west shore, where the fireworks are launched, is closed to entry on the day, so watch from an accessible spot along the lakeshore. As the close of a day spent visiting the zoo and the shrine, look up at the night sky together as a family.

Tips

In case of rain, the event is postponed to Sunday, August 2. Please check the organizer's announcement on the day. Roads in the area get crowded after the show ends, so it is recommended to enjoy the afterglow for a while before heading home at a staggered time. It is reassuring to have your phone's flashlight ready, since the ground underfoot is dark.
