This lookout sits on a headland separating Lake Inohana and Lake Hamana, and is one of the best viewpoints in the Mikkabi area, offering a sweeping view of both lakes from a hilltop. In summer's clear air, the scenery woven by the blue lake surface and green mountains is truly spectacular. It's also worth taking in a daylight view from up here of Lake Inohana, where the fireworks will light up tonight.
Tips
About 15 minutes by car from Makayaji Temple. The road up to the lookout is a continuous slope, so traveling by car is convenient. Summer sunlight is strong, so don't forget to stay hydrated.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour. The lake view is especially clear in the crisp afternoon air
