About this spot

This shrine sits on the water of Lake Inohana, which spreads out at the inner reaches of Lake Hamana, marked by a red arched bridge connecting it to land. The enshrined deities are Takemikazuchi-no-Mikoto and Ichikishimahime-no-Mikoto, said to grant blessings for matchmaking, prosperous family fortune, and safety at sea. The area around the Lake Inohana shore, where the fireworks festival is held, bustles with local food stalls on the day of the festival. Pick up dinner around the time the breeze off the lake starts to feel pleasant, and enjoy a relaxed wait for the show to begin with your family.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Okusayama Observation Deck. Roads and parking lots nearby get crowded just before the fireworks, so an early arrival is recommended.
