These are the fireworks that crown the finale of the 58th Nakatane Yoira~iki Festival (中種子町よいら〜いき祭り), held on Saturday, August 1, 2026. The fireworks color the night sky over Noma, Tanegashima. With no tall buildings around, the fireworks spread across the wide-open island sky in a way that has a relaxed charm quite different from fireworks in the city. It's a warm, community-rooted fireworks display that has continued for many years.

Tips

There is no rain-date backup, and in case of rain the evening program may be moved to the Tanegashima Central Gymnasium (種子島中央体育館) instead, so check the town's announcement on the day for whether it's held and where. The sea breeze can make the evening cool, so don't forget something to wear over your shoulders. There are few streetlights around the venue, so use a light to watch your footing on the way home.
