About this spot

A nationally designated Important Preservation District for historic buildings, this was the 47th post-town of the Tokaido Highway. Spanning approximately 1.8 km, townhouses from the Edo and Meiji periods are lined up in rows, preserving the bustling atmosphere of the post-town as it was. Throughout the town, snack shops, souvenir stores, and traditional sweets shops are scattered, making eating-while-you-walk a pleasant activity. Before the summer fireworks, experience a post-town stroll as if you were an Edo-period traveler.

2026年8月22日(土)開催、江戸時代から続く宿場町関宿を舞台にした納涼花火大会です。鈴鹿川の河川敷から約2,000発の花火が次々と打ち上がり、古い町並みが残る夜空を彩ります。川沿いという開けた立地のため、遮るものが少なく花火を大きく見上げられるのも魅力。宿場町散策から続く歴史ある1日の締めくくりとして、夏の夜空に響く花火の音を家族で楽しみましょう。

Tips

荒天時は中止となる場合があるため、当日は亀山市の公式発表で確認を。終了後は周辺道路が混み合うため、少し時間をおいてから帰路につくのがおすすめです。河川敷は足元が暗いのでスマホのライトを活用しましょう。

Tips

Walking from Azuma no Oiwake near JR Sekigumi Station to Nishi no Oiwake gives you a complete picture of the post-town. In summer, the sun is strong, so it's best to walk leisurely, choosing shaded routes. Restrooms are located near the tourist information center in the middle of town.
