Explore Sengoku-period history through magnificent castle ruins and museum
About this spot
The ruins of the castle built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi as a base for his Korean campaigns, reportedly second only to Osaka Castle in size during its time. While the buildings no longer stand, the magnificent stone walls remaining on the elevated land overlooking the Genkai-nada Sea tell of the former scale. The adjacent Saga Prefectural Nagoya Castle Museum presents the historical context in easy-to-understand exhibits, and admission is free. Close to the fireworks venue of Hato Misaki, this location is ideal for connecting historical exploration to the beachside.

Tips
